Thanet Writers
Thanet Writers are a Community Interest Company, helping authors and poets linked to Thanet in some way. Their website is packed with stories, poetry and essays on writing, as well as interviews and videos showcasing further work.
Recently, they have secured Arts Council Funding, allowing them to pay for submissions and to publish physical collections.
Margate Bookie
Margate Bookie is a literary festival, encouraging people to get involved with literature at all levels. Margate Bookie hosts storytelling events for children, a pop-up bookshop and readings from some of the countries biggest literary talents.
The Bookie continues to grow and attract writers from around the country, transforming Margate’s Old Town into a celebration of the written word.
Landing Place
Writers and artists Dan & Tracey Thompson run poetry events around Margate, notably their flagship bi-monthly show at Turner Contemporary.
The duo are also found at Marine Studios, lending their cumulative knowledge and experience to help other artists and writers.
The Poetry Pop-Up Bookshop was originally started at their events and continues to deliver poetry to gigs around Kent.
Tom Thumb Theatre
One of the smallest theatres in the world Tom Thumb Theatre is a gorgeous venue and home to our Tongue Punch poetry night.
Bringing national talent to Margate in an intimate setting, Tom Thumb Theatre has previously held performances by poets such as Rob Auton, Luke Wright and Attila the Stockbroker.
Inkbomb
Inkbomb is a video production company focusing on promoting the UKs most exciting emerging poets.
Inkbomb has featured several of our poets as part of their Season Zero videos, with more collaborations planned.
